Spaceagency is seeking an associate to join its team in central London.

Spaceagency is looking for an associate to aid on exciting, high-profile international wayfinding and environmental design projects. Spaceagency is a design agency based in London and working globally. Our focus is on the design of experiences that engage the visitor at every scale; urban, building, interior. Our expertise includes wayfinding, concept and brand development, city identity, retail and hospitality design. Our international client portfolio includes cities, global brands and collaborations with prominent artists. Projects will include wayfinding for world expos, museums and public realm projects.

The practice is looking to recruit an associate to take a key role within our team. This full-time, permanent role calls for a dedicated self-starter with team spirit who shares our creative ambitions. Leadership and management skills are a must. The ideal candidate will be a registered architect or spatial designer with at least 10 years of experience who is interested in interdisciplinary design. The candidate will have both good design and technical credentials. They will be used to liaise with clients, colleagues, suppliers, statutory bodies and contractors, ensuring a broad variety of work. Whilst initially reporting to the directors, the long-term goal should be to take ownership of an increasing number of projects, taking a leading role in management within the practice.

Key responsibilities:

  • lead on design projects across all RIBA project Stages
  • create and maintain a strong working relationship with clients
  • manage teams in the delivery of projects
  • mentor junior staff members in their learning and use of the software and drawing standards
  • understand and adhere to quality assurance systems
  • identify gaps in the knowledge and skills of the practice

Qualifications:

  • a minimum of ten years of professional experience
  • experience working on large scale projects and knowledge of workflow and professional processes on large design teams
  • design talent and a strong portfolio of professional design experience
  • excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • professional attitude with the ability to meet deadlines and multi-task
  • self-motivation and drive
  • strong software skills; AutoCAD, Rhino, Adobe Creative Suite
  • capability to produce high-quality packages, documents and graphics
  • available to begin work immediately in London and have the relevant working permits for the UK
