Architectural designer
Evans Turner (Finishes) is looking for an architectural designer to join its growing team in Dartford, UK.
Working with leading architecture firms in the UK to provide high end bespoke, luxury interior finishes for new landmark builds and refurbishment. Working closely with the fabrication team to meet the highest quality demands that major London contractors require. Innovative new product line including architectural lighting solutions and bespoke fabrication methods.
You’ll work on a wide range of project scope from commercially driven larger projects, to high end retail and residential one off’s. Direct contact with client and main contractor daily, reporting only to the Directors of the company.

The role is not entirely desk bound so any site experience is beneficial, and you’ll be expected to independently travel around London to various construction sites.
Main responsibilities:
- lead and manage a small team of design draftsman providing technical support for submission of key deliverables
- manage your own CAD workload
- work with fabrication team to overcome any key design issues — liaise with client and architect to develop existing relationships
- attend and survey site liaising with install teams
- procurement of bulk materials
- execute project planning and management of labour
- report to directors
Ideally you will have:
- an excellent eye for detail and proven communication skills
- a degree in architecture, Mechanical Engineering or similar
- proficient in AutoCAD, Adobe products and 3D software (SolidWorks/SketchUp or similar)
- strong design sensibility and the ability to translate concept design into a buildable project
- ability to self-manage and work within a team
- previous experience leading a team & managing projects
- maintaining and building existing relationships with the client
