London, UK
Part 2 architectural assistant
at Conrad Koslowsky Architects
Conrad Koslowsky Architects is seeking a full-time Part 2 architectural assistant to join its studio in London.
The practice
Founded in 2019 on principles of material responsibility, craftsmanship, and sustainability in its broadest sense, we are an ambitious and rapidly growing architecture studio based in Dalston. We feel fortunate to be working on a broad range of exciting projects, including a children’s care home for an inspirational new charity, a retail shop fit out for a well-known fashion designer, several unique private residential projects, and a lake house in Canada. Research is also central to our practice – Conrad is currently a Design Fellow on the MAUD course at the University of Cambridge.
The role
We are a small and collaborative team looking for a highly motivated Part 2 architectural assistant. There is an opportunity for the successful applicant to lead two smaller projects through all RIBA work stages, and to help with planning and tender information on other larger projects. We also need support with visualisations and models (we have a small wood workshop). Our live projects are all in different stages and will require injections of fresh thinking and energy from our whole team.
Skills required:
- qualified Part 2 architectural assistant, ideally with a minimum three-years’ experience
- excellent design and aesthetic awareness
- a strong desire to learn (we are always learning!)
- keen interest in craft and construction
- strong graphic, visualisation, layout, and model-making skills
- good working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator)
- basic understanding of UK planning, building regulations, and construction
- an excellent communicator with an organised nature, able to work to multiple deadlines
- working knowledge of Microstation 2D preferable, along with Rhino 3d or Sketchup
- interest in learning and developing knowledge of all RIBA stages
- ability to start work soon
Notes:
- candidates must be eligible to work in the UK
- salary commensurate with experience
- fluent in both spoken and written English
- we take an extra break between Christmas and New Year
