NaganJohnson is looking for an architect to join its London practice.
The practice
NaganJohnson is a busy practice with a close-knit team of architects and landscape architects working from their studio in Waterloo. We are looking to appoint an architect to work on a range of projects.
Our current workload includes a sports pavilion, a contemporary apartment block and various residential projects for private and commercial clients.
We are a design-led practice, often working within historic and physically challenging sites, both as new build and amendments to existing buildings. We enjoy finding new ways to use traditional materials and the challenge of good, robust detailing. We strive to embed all projects within their local context with our work, including interiors and landscapes.
Required skills
The candidate must be an all-rounder with experience in construction and with good design and presentation skills, including working with pencil and board.
The candidate should be proficient in:
- CAD, computer modelling and physical model-making
- ArchiCAD, Vectorworks 2D, SketchUp, Adobe CS, MS Office
- freehand drawing and sketching
- writing, spelling and grammar
Candidates must have a good command of spoken and written English and be available to work in the UK with no visa issues. Understanding of BIM techniques is an advantage. Candidates must have a good understanding of UK construction law.
Responsibilities
The key responsibility will be in project delivery and will require an efficient, solid grasp of design development and project coordination. The role will require someone to work on a number of projects simultaneously, taking a responsive and diligent approach to the work, while getting on well with others in the team.
We would like to see a small portfolio of less than 4 Mb with some examples of your hand drawing, CAD detailing and presentation.
