Living.ky is seeking an interior designer to join its team in the Cayman Islands.
Living.ky is looking for a senior interior designer with experience in luxury residential projects to join our Grand Cayman team. The ideal candidate is a creative, self-motivated and meticulous individual who is able to operate independently, lead a strong design team and act in a project management role.
Duties:
- this person should be able to collaborate seamlessly with clients, as well as other designers, architects, contractors, fabricators, artisans, and developers on multiple projects
- responsible for material sourcing and specification, custom furniture design, visual research, furniture sourcing, graphic and visual presentations, in addition to maintaining budgets and project timelines
- creating project documentation including the submission of a full drawing set, specification writing, schedules, and construction administration and consultant coordination
Desired skills and experience:
- five or more years of experience in interiors or architecture and a degree from an accredited school
- passion for design and an eye for detail
- excellent hand sketching and rendering ability
- knowledge of the full design process including concept, schematic, design development, construction documentation, construction administration, procurement, and installation
- high proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), SketchUp, 20/20 and Microsoft Office Suite
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a willingness to adapt to the daily needs of the design team
The applicant would need to relocate to Grand Cayman. A magical Caribbean paradise that is Covid free! You will be leading the interior design and working with our showroom staff to meet our client’s needs. Living.ky has been in business for five years and has doubled in size every year.
The successful applicant will receive between CI$45,000 and CI$48,000 annually (approx. conversion £39,500 to $42,000). From this, a 5% pension contribution is taken which is matched by the employer. 15 days annual leave plus public holidays, approximately one a month. Healthcare and lunches are also included.
