Haberdashery is looking for a sales coordinator — products to join its busy team.
Haberdashery are an east London based design studio & lighting brand.
We are looking for a sales coordinator for our product range, assisting the director of the department.
This is not a typical office job, we are a dynamic design studio who take pride in our team led, hands on approach in the production of our work.
Ideally we are looking for someone with experience in the design industry, however a willingness to get involved in a variety of tasks and a desire to develop your career with us is equally valued.
This role offers a lot of potential for development and learning new skills within a fun and close knit environment.
Some overseas travel will be required (trade shows, customer visits etc)
Duties and responsibilities
Sales and marketing:
- engage in all client facing aspects of the sales process for products and tailored projects
- develop sales leads and issue quotations by understanding the client budget, markups, drawings, location and qtys
- ensure gross margin KPI’s are maintained
- where necessary work with clients to present new ideas within budget
- keep clients informed of the progress of their orders and agree suitable action plan when order is delayed. Escalate where necessary
- resolve after-sales queries/issues in a timely fashion and escalate where necessary
- engage with clients/potential customers whenever required, including the promotion of the business at shows and marketing events e.g. knowledge of the company, the products and our values
- liaise with clients for any filming or photography opportunities
- maintain sample stock, monitor loans and package and send in a presentable manner
Purchasing:
- reporting to the director, manage the supplier and purchase ordering process for products sales and tailored projects
- obtain and improve relationships with new and existing suppliers, ensuring the best purchasing conditions are realised
- maintain stock levels of product parts in line with agreed KPI’s
- implement production, quality and assembly systems
- sourcing new materials and processes
- maintain a high level of administrative work including updates to scheduling, google calendar, google sheets for management structure and project costs
Team/project management:
- proactively engage with team and project management, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders
- lead your projects from start to finish whilst building a positive, long-term relationship with the client
- report regularly to the director about the projects you are leading, raising any issues with scheduling, costs, design issues etc.
- manage your time and the time of others to ensure that all projects and their tasks are effectively delegated and delivered on schedule and within budgeted time constraints
- setup and define the job staging/tasks, estimate time budgets and purchase budgets for both internal and tailored projects
- record meeting minutes, and confirm all agreements with the relevant stakeholders in writing via email or letter immediately following client and supplier meetings
- manage the internal structure for editions and product with the guidance and information from the director of product, by presenting project information, creating stock coding, filing and new traffic systems, advising designers on costs/aesthetics/production/end user
Business:
- provide accurate information to inform the monitoring of cash-flow of the business by input of estimates and ensuring all information for projections is up to date/flagging any issues
- issue invoices in line with any billing schedule, with the correct payment terms
- maintain and update the Haberdashery traffic system and Sage both in terms of contacts and jobs
- clear and professional written and verbal communication that promotes the values of Haberdashery
- continue to research and gain knowledge in competitive markets e.g. retail pricing, stockists, contracts, lead-times and design.
Required experience/skills:
- two years work experience in a similar role
- highly organised with excellent written and verbal communication
- good telephone manner, happy to talk to clients and suppliers on the phone
- IT skills: MS Office (Excel), G-Suite (google mail and sheets, calendar etc.), Sage (preferred but not essential)
- having an interest in and knowledge of design related trends and events
You must be entitled to work in the UK. Salary dependent on experience
