Logistics and shipping manager
at Balineum

Balineum is seeking a logistics and shipping manager to join its team in London.

About Balineum

We are passionate about beautiful bathrooms. So much so, that we named ourselves after the Latin word for bathhouse. We offer a carefully curated collection of bathroom furnishings and finishes. The items we sell are a mixture of in-stock items and items that are made-to-order through a trusted network of craftsman and suppliers. Our customers are largely interior designers and increasingly, most of our work consists of made-to-order items for high profile designers and interior firms.

Background to appointment

Balineum operates from a home-office in Hampstead NW3, a central and easily accessible location. Due to the continued growth of the business, we are looking for someone to work in our London office to be responsible for all shipping, logistics and warehousing for the business. This includes receiving product deliveries and QC checks, managing our storage space, and packing and despatching client orders. We ship everything from small letters and parcels through to pallets, all around the world.

Overall responsibilities

Responsible for all incoming and outgoing deliveries for the business. From receiving and checking supplier product deliveries through to sending all client orders out, choosing the most suitable and cost effective method.

See the full job description on our website for a description of the specific day to day responsibilities.

Necessary personal characteristics

The role requires a person who is organised, detail focused and methodical in their approach to tasks. Excellent spatial reasoning skills.

Ability to work independently and juggle competing priorities.

Team player with a positive attitude – all problems can be fixed!

The role is physical: you will be required to pack and ship orders (including large boxes and pallets of tiles). You must be able to lift 30kg boxes with ease.

Essential experience

You must have experience working in warehousing: packing and sending customer orders around the world.

You must have basic computer skills. Our stock and sales are managed by a computer system (called Bright Pearl) and we also use a computer program called Shiptheory to generate some shipping labels automatically, so you will need to use computers as part of this role.

Desirable experience

Experience with shipping tiles and luxury goods around UK and Europe: both pallet and box based shipments.

General employment terms

Permanent role, 30-40 hours per week. Hours can be flexible depending on the candidate. Our preference is for these hours to be between 9.00 – 17.00pm each day.

The role does require working from our NW3 office immediately (and then a new office location TBA). There is no capacity to work remotely in this role.

28 days paid annual leave each year plus the dates between Christmas and New Year
