Project architect/experienced Part 2 architectural assistant
at MOMO & CO. Design

MOMO & CO. is seeking a talented and experienced Part 2 architectural assistant or recently qualified architect to join its small friendly team in London.

We specialise in full house renovations and refurbishments of high-end family homes within prime SW London and looking for someone with experience and enthusiasm in this area to help work on our expanding portfolio.

This is a great opportunity to join our team and be fully involved in every aspect of our architecture projects from initial concept design, detailed design, assistance with contract administration, and onsite project management of our build projects through to completion. In return, we require a high level of commitment from the successful candidate.

Given the tight knit nature of the studio, the ability to fit in on a personal level as well as a professional level is equally desirable

This person must:

  • have at least three years of experience working on high end residential refurbishment projects in London
  • have excellent communication skills and feel confident and comfortable with job running (e.g. liaising with our clients, consultants, trade suppliers, builders, etc.) We do things professionally, but equally are able to relate in a happy, friendly and personable fashion
  • be well-versed with AutoCAD, SketchUp & Excel on mac. If you can use Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, 3D rendering programs or any other presentation skills, then that would be great – but not essential
  • site experience and knowledge of the home refurbishment process and the various key stages is important. Working knowledge of structure, construction methods and materials is helpful. Particularly, technical skill in specification of works, electrical layouts, detailed joinery drawings, etc
  • any knowledge on UK building control requirements, listed building consent and the planning policies of Wandsworth, LBHF, RBKC & Westminster councils is a major plus
  • must be a highly motivated self-starter, who is willing to help out wherever required within our practice. Organisation and follow through are key, as well as being a relentless problem solver
  • have patience and an eye for detail in both design output and in the work you produce. This is non-negotiable.  Work should still be completed efficiently, but not at the expense of making careless mistakes
  • This is important: you must have a good attitude and able to take responsibility, particularly when situations get demanding. We like to surround ourselves with positive and creative people who look for solutions and do not dwell on the situation at hand
  • living in SW London would be an advantage, as you’ll be able to better understand the local area, the community, etc. These are our people
