Architect – German/English-speaking
at HWKN
HWKN is seeking a German/English-speaking architect for German Phases 1-3 to join its team in New York or remotely in Germany.
HWKN is looking for a talented and motivated employee in the USA or freelance team member located in Germany to support our New-York-based team with projects in Germany. As the German and English speaking project architect, communication is key, and technical know-how is a great asset. HWKN is a design-oriented office with focus on phases SD through DD and the German Phases 1, 2 and 3 (HOAI).
We offer a corporate culture with flat hierarchies and room for creativity. Compensation is regulated according to experience, including health insurance, 401(k) and a generous regulation on vacation days for the option of full employment (freelance is also possible).
Matthias Hollwich, the company’s founder, was born in Germany and where he studied architecture. He brings a double perspective to all of the company’s designs and combines German precision with New Yorker ambition.
The following qualifications are required:
- six to ten years of experience, including at least two years on projects in Germany, especially in German phases 1, 2 and 3 (according to HOAI)
- can effectively lead project and client meetings
- very good knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino, and Adobe programs, and is familiar with the current standards in Germany
- fluent in English and German (speaking and writing)
- you are reliable, strong in communication and good at working in a team. Above all, you have fun and passion in your work, which you share with our entire team.
- either based in the USA, preferably New York, or as a freelance team member working remotely from Germany
Compensation and benefits:
- full-time, non-exempt employment (for USA positions) or freelance for non-US based opportunities
- compensation is commensurate with skills and experience.
