B-HUBER is seeking a head designer to join its team in Guadalajara, Mexico.
B-Huber has built a reputation for creating luxurious and elegant interiors, both within Mexico and internationally, designing spaces for the best hotel brands in the world, F&B, housing complex and high-end residences. What you will bring to the team
We are looking for a motivated, creative and ambitious senior interior designer with a minimum of six years’ experience to work on high end interior design projects in the hospitality, commercial and residential sectors. Leading the design team and in tandem with other designers, this person will be fully immersed at all levels of the design process. The designer will take responsibility of the projects, using creative skills to solve problems and meet deadlines. The candidate must have strong leadership, organisational and administrational skills. Very strong verbal and written communication skills will be required, as the designer will be expected to discuss/present their ideas to the design team and liaise with consultants and clients.
Responsibilities:
- running projects from concept to completion at all levels of design
- managing, leading and supporting members of the design team
- driving the project’s design program, by planning project deliverables and meeting deadlines
- understanding the client brief and creative director’s vision for the projects and implementing them into the concept design, presenting innovative, timeless and distinctive design concepts, ensuring that they meet ethical, aesthetic, functional and economic expectations
- give a creative guide and evaluate, review and correct the content of the design team before submitting the final design
- communicate effectively with client, vendors and team in order to address client’s needs
- rendering direction
- interior detailing and FF&E specifications. Manufacturing supervision
- prepare presentations (3D, 2D, mock-ups)
- multi-task while designing components of various projects
- media coordination to update portfolio/business CV/press kits
Are you a fit?
- six to ten years of experience in either hospitality or residential design and be very experienced with running jobs; either large scale residential, hotels or restaurant roll-outs
- strong project management, planning and organisational skills
- exceptional collaboration skills in interdisciplinary teams
- be capable of clear communication; fluent in Spanish and English, both written and spoken
- excellent at communicating creative visions visually, with an aesthetic graphical representation
- experience in sourcing furniture, materials and finishes and presenting and scheduling FF&E
- be proficient in: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, 3D modeling, AutoCAD
- proactivity, commitment, decision making and ability to work under pressure
