We are a growing high-end manufacturing brand, specialising in interior products, who pride ourselves on our commitment to design and innovation. Current expansion has created an exciting opportunity for a suitably experienced Product Design Engineer to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an established, growing company in the high end residential sector. We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced product engineer, who will work closely with the director/design team on an exciting mix of product development and high end interior projects. Experience and an excellent knowledge of developing technical workshop production drawings and create detailed product specifications is required. The individual must be able to take initiative, manage their own workload and collaborate effectively within the team.

We require someone with passion who has an understanding and appreciation for good design and the Porter design ethos.

Role:

  • working alongside the director/design team on the technical development of production and assembly specifications for existing and new product lines to the Porter catalogue
  • working alongside the design team on bespoke client project documentation including detailed drawing sets for production, assembly and installation
  • working alongside the workshop production teams on technical advice and assistance
  • creation of all material cut lists and or component(s) for workshop production and assembly
  • managing and maintaining CAD drawings and technical documentation
  • work closely within the team to give your support and are able to manage your own projects also

Candidate:

  • at least four years of experience in a similar role within the industry
  • proficient in professional CAD packages for production. Eg. CAD, Solid-works, Pytha 3D etc
  • ability to use Adobe Creative Suite, in particular In Design for presentation purposes is advantageous
  • ability to create high quality 3d models for presentation purposes
  • ability to create photorealistic renderings, using Key shot, V-ray or similar is advantageous
  • have excellent spatial awareness in order to put forward well balanced technical solutions to projects/products with impeccable attention to detail
  • have an excellent understanding of materials and manufacturing techniques with experience of design to manufacture processes
  • ability to easily understand and interpret information from architect/designers drawings and specifications
  • strong technical ability and excellent presentation skills
  • a resourceful, optimistic nature with great care and attention who enjoys a challenge, open to all aspects of projects with a hands-on attitude
