Sheehan Nagle Hartray Associates is looking for an NBS specification writer to join its growing team in London.
Role: NBS specification writer
Location: Sheehan Nagle Hartray Associates, London office
This is a great opportunity for a passionate specification writer with extensive experience using NBS Chorus and Create to coordinate with the projects and technical team.
We are looking for an individual who can work with our talented architects and technical team developing and producing specifications. The candidate must have been working with NBS Create and familiar with the new NBS Chorus. They should be a multi-tasker who can handle a fast-paced environment, while maintaining an emphasis on detail and quality.
The NBS specification writer will work collaboratively with the project teams and technical team from project kick-off to the final close-out of a project.
NBS specification writer responsibilities:
- liaise with suppliers in the collation of product information and specification. Source and research new/alternative products and arrange for samples and presentations of products where necessary
- assist in the coordination efforts of the entire project team including external disciplines and contractors within NBS specification environment
- using NBS Chorus to produce relevant technical drawings
- be the ‘go-to-person’ for ‘how to’ and project troubleshooting in NBS Chorus and its associated apps, add-ins and utilities
- liaise closely with the associates and project leads in the design development of the scheme with regular interim meetings
- effectively communicate and work with every level of employee from general end-users to high-level managers and directors
Required skills:
- thorough knowledge of construction detailing
- minimum five years’ experience using NBS specification tools
- advanced proficiency in NBS: Chorus and Create
- working knowledge of NBS plug-in for Revit is an advantage
- excellent communication and technical writing is essential
- experience in prescriptive and descriptive specification writing
- experience coordinating with the project and technical team
The position is open to UK-based applicants only, who have prior experience working in the architecture, engineering, or construction industry. The candidate should demonstrate excellent technical capability, plus possess great interpersonal and communication skills.
