Benchmark Architects is seeking a bespoke homes architect to join its team in Bedfordshire, UK.

We love architecture and design; working with people to create, challenge and innovate. We are specialists in residential development, bespoke homes, hospitality projects and crematoria buildings.
We are looking for an architect to join our team in Ampthill, Bedfordshire, working on domestic extensions and one-off homes.
Our ‘bespoke homes’ architects look after a project from inception through to completion, managing their own workload and are the client’s main contact throughout the entire process.
Qualifications:
- ARB and RIBA qualified architect
- 1-5 post qualification experience
Experience:
- minimum of one to two years’ working on house extensions and one-off new build homes
- heritage or listed building (desirable)
Knowledge:
- statutory requirements in planning and building regulations
- permitted development rights
- proficient in AutoCAD and Revit
- proficient in Adobe Suite. Esp InDesign and PhotoShop

Main duties:
- attending new client visits to explain our services and take a detailed client brief
- speak with prospective and existing clients in a timely and friendly manner, striving to resolve any queries to a high standard of customer service
- keeping our company management software and CRM system accurate and up to date with client and project data
- use in-house calculator to generate a bespoke fee proposal from detailed client brief
- design creative concept solutions to meet the requirements of our clients needs. Communicating these designs through sketch mock-ups and computer-generated visuals
- present design work to clients and colleagues, being able to articulate confidently why you have come to your design solutions
- put together design documents and design and access statements with detailed information suitable for planning applications
- complete detailed design drawing packs; plans and elevations in AutoCAD and Revit, suitable for Planning and Building Regs Standards. Closely following company guidelines and protocols
- liaise with planners and consultants throughout the planning period to get the best possible outcome for our clients
- organise the tender process for clients, offering advice and guidance
- following up with clients to gain valuable feedback about our service
- develop relevant knowledge and skills through regular CPD activities and training
- adhere to stated policies and procedures relating to health and safety, and quality management
- other ad hoc duties as required
