London, UK
Project architect/experienced Part 2 architectural assistant
at MOMO & CO. Design
MOMO & CO. is on the hunt for a talented and experienced architect/Part 2 architectural assistant to join its small friendly team in London.
We specialise in full house renovations and refurbishments of high-end family homes within prime SW London and looking for someone with experience and enthusiasm in this area to help work on our expanding portfolio.
This is a great opportunity to join our team and be fully involved in every aspect of our architecture projects from initial concept design, detailed design, assistance with contract administration, and onsite project management of our build projects through to completion. In return, we require a high level of commitment from the successful candidate.
Given the tight knit nature of the studio, the ability to fit in on a personal level as well as a professional level is equally desirable
Required skills and experience:
- ideally, at least three years’ experience working on high end residential refurbishment projects in London
- have excellent communication skills and feel confident and comfortable with project running (e.g. liaising directly with our clients, consultants, trade suppliers, builders, etc.) We do things professionally, but also able to communicate in a friendly, collaborative and personable fashion with all our partners
- high level of proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp and Excel on mac. Skills in Adobe Creative Suite and 3D rendering programs are advantageous – but not essential
- site experience and knowledge of the home refurbishment process and the various key stages is important. Technical knowledge of structure, construction methods and materials are helpful. Particularly, technical skill in specification of works, electrical layouts, detailed joinery drawings, etc
- ability to produce drawings and presentations to the highest standard
- any knowledge on UK building control requirements, listed building consent and the planning policies of Wandsworth, LBHF, RBKC and Westminster Councils is a major plus
- must be a highly motivated self-starter, who is willing to help out wherever required within our practice. Organisation and follow through are key, as well as being a relentless problem solver
- patience and excellent attention to detail, in design and all other work you produce
- this is important: you must have a good attitude and able to take responsibility, particularly when situations get demanding. We like to surround ourselves with positive and creative people who look for solutions, show initiative and have the highest level of professionalism
- living in SW London would be an advantage, as you’ll be able to better understand the local area, the community, etc. These are our people
