Whitespace Architects is seeking a design architect to join its team in Amsterdam.

Position responsibilities:

• to deliver a concept idea into a building proposal with guidance of a senior architect
• should be able to manage his or her own day-to-day tasks to meet schedules and deadlines
• will be involved in the delivery of projects to tight deadlines
• liaise with internal disciplines and team members
• will be working closely with the project architects/draft man under senior architects in the design and draft of a project
• develop building designs and highly detailed drawings both by hand and by using computer aided design (CAD) and Revit applications
• playing a part in project and team management
• other duties as requested from time to time
• report direct to project architect or senior architect based on the project scale

Skills and competencies:

• ability to design and problem solve as proven by strong portfolio
• ambitious in architecture and design and desire to grow within the company
• ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines efficiently
• strong presentation skills
• experience with coordination among multiple disciplines and managing deliverables on schedule
• excellent written and oral skills are required
• technically creative and open-minded
•  knowledge of additional software packages (Photoshop, InDesign, Revit, SketchUp and AutoCAD)

Requirements:

• bachelors degree in architecture
• two to five years’ experience
• experience with coordination among multiple disciplines and managing deliverables on schedule
• familiar with international building code for building design as well as the ability to develop an understanding of local requirements
• team player – excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with the in-house multi discipline teams
• urban design experience is preferred
