Founded in 1965 by Rodney Kinsman RDI, OMK designed and manufactured much of the furniture sold through Terence Conran’s Habitat stores in the 60’s and 70’s. A key figure in the high-tech design movement, Kinsman’s products are regarded as icons of 20th century British design.
Today OMK are the market leaders in public area seating, working with the world’s leading architects, operations and specifiers their experienced design team have developed a focused range of furniture to enhance public spaces.
In addition to public areas Kinsman’s iconic designs are sold to the retail and contract markets under the brand OMK 1965.
About the role
We are seeking a furniture sales executive to join our expert team and help support our business expansion plans. You will be responsible for maintaining, growing and developing key existing accounts across a variety of sectors such as transport, workplace, education and healthcare as well as prospecting for new clients within these areas. This role straddles both the public seating side of the business as well as OMK 1965.
Applicants should have a proven track record from within the commercial A&D sector, either with sales experience or from a sales support role – ready to make the step up.
Role responsibilities:
- planning and preparing meeting presentations for existing and prospective clients
- developing relationships through active networking, and visiting practices for meetings and presentations
- communicating products and solutions to architects, interior designers, developers and contractors
- supporting the management team to increase brand awareness across both the public seating side of the business and contract furniture
- progressively seek and develop new business opportunities and undertaking face to face meetings
- nurture, build and develop positive relationships through a mature, considered approach, representing OMK’s brand ethos and professionalism
- ensuring all company CRM processes are adhered to and databases are kept updated, activity is recorded correctly
- work closely with other departments including; commercial, design, production and logistics from enquiry through to manufacture and installation stage
- actively support the growth of the business by promotion, through multiple marketing campaigns and events including national and international trade shows
About you:
- hold a proven track record and able to demonstrate stability and success in previous account management/new business sales roles
- to be able to demonstrate an excellent understanding of the contract furniture market and hold a passion for quality, well-crafted design
- exceptional organisational skills with high level of initiative and motivation
- focus on the effectiveness, efficiency and quality of sales activity, relationship building, not just the quantity
- a personable, great communicator who enjoys building long term, positive relationships
- strong commercial acumen with an existing network of active relationships in the industry
