Showroom sales assistant

Tai Ping Carpets is hiring a showroom sales assistant to join its team in London.
Division: retail sales
Location: London, UK
Key relations: sales, designers, marketing department, operations, logistics and accounting
Key responsibilities: showroom sales/meet and greet/maintaining showroom and brand aesthetic
Sales:
- gain an intimate knowledge of the Tai Ping and Edward Fields product portfolio, particularly those on display. Full training will be given including order entry and back-office systems
- understand a customer’s requirements, provide guidance and advice – in person, on the telephone and by email – develop and close sales in the showroom and via our online shop
- create quotations and sales orders
- take payments
- keep customers updated on when their orders are due to arrive, arrange deliveries and installations, liaising with our logistics provider
- assist with after sales enquiries, any warranty issues and organize deliveries to clients
- greet a variety of visitors such as members of the public, designers, architects, trade clients and suppliers. Ensure they are dealt with promptly, offered tea, coffee, water etc.
- the showroom is Tai Ping and Edward Fields and must look its best at all times. The showroom assistant will maintain the look and feel of the showroom on a daily basis. They will help with the general tidying, flowers, products, storage and rotation of the showroom
Events
Events such as product launches, networking events, such as LDF are a big part of our sales process. The sales assistant role will be pivotal in making sure the showroom is ready and all events run smoothly, working with the sales teams to coordinate and help create events.
Required skills and competencies include:
- experienced and knowledgeable high-end interiors sales person (high-end carpets and rugs a plus)
- talent for initiating, cultivating and expanding business relationships with customers at the highest level
- proficient in Word, Excel
- fluent English (Other languages seen as a bonus)
- excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
- organised, attention to detail and ability to effectively multi-task
- dynamism and entrepreneurial spirit
