Freelance retail designer
at UXUS
UXUS is seeking a freelance retail designer to join its team in Amsterdam.
For our office in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, UXUS is seeking for freelance retail designer(s) who are available for collaboration in the coming three to four months (to start with) and support our multidisciplinary team with their clients’ projects.
Candidates must be based in the same time zone as Amsterdam, the Netherlands or at maximum, in a timezone with up to two hours difference with Amsterdam and be available for work during our office hours (9AM to 6PM Amsterdam time).
Proficiency in Rhino is a requirement for this collaboration.
As retail designer, you will design retail concepts and experiences for the world’s leading brands across various industries. For each project you will collaborate with a team of highly talented people, including graphic designers, 3D visualisers and strategists. Together you will produce all relevant materials for client presentations, such as presentation structures, mood boards, sketches, and visualisations.
Main responsibilities:
- collaborate on commercial retail projects, concept design, schematic design, and design development
- design store concepts including custom fixturing, architectural details and lighting layout
- produce finished plans, project specifications and material boards
- work with consultants, contractors and suppliers
Requirements:
- minimum three years’ of design experience in the retail design sector is essential
- bachelor’s degree interior design or architecture
- experience in designing floor plans, custom furniture, specifying FF&E, materials and colours
- high level design and conceptual skill
- fluent in 3D modeling skills, 3D Studio Max
- fluent in Rhino
- basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator)
- experience using both metric and imperial (US/UK) measurements
- in-depth digital design capabilities
- meticulous attention to detail
- creative problem-solving ability
- strong organisational skills, flexibility and the ability to prioritise work assignments
- excellent command of English language (our company language) written and spoken. Knowledge of any additional language is welcome
- experience in working with international clients and projects
- ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment is essential
- demonstrated intercultural awareness and ability to interact with a diverse team within UXUS and within our clients’ network if required.
