Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners is seeking a new business manager to join its team in London.

Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners (RSHP) is an award-winning international architectural practice headquartered in the City of London. We work across multiple sectors on a variety of exciting projects ranging from small, innovative housing developments to very large-scale international infrastructure projects.

We are looking for a new business manager to join our team in London. The suitable candidate will work closely with the head of new business and the partners to help secure new opportunities and projects. As new business manager, you will help define and implement the practice’s business development strategy across all typologies and geographies; developing plans to increase RSHP’s presence in key operational markets. You will be required to develop and maintain client relationships; identify and track suitable project opportunities; and take the lead in the management of bids, proposals, and presentations.

Key responsibilities – to include, but not be restricted to, the following:

  • support the new business team in identifying, appraising and responding to new project enquiries and opportunities
  • responsible for the overall management, production and submission of all bids and proposals
  • write copy, collate, and design high-quality, engaging bid documents for tender responses (EOI, PQQ, RFQ and RFP) and presentation pitches, coordinating requirements and deadlines with both internal and external stakeholders
  • assemble fit-for-purpose consultant teams to respond to tenders
  • review submissions for compliance, quality and consistency
  • collect relevant client feedback, and communicate to the team
  • maintain a library of written responses, case studies and relevant information to support the production of bids
  • develop and maintain a network of contacts across clients, consultants and specialists
  • log and maintain CRM records for new project opportunities and generate weekly reports
  • contribute to weekly opportunities meeting with the partners
  • undertake research projects specific to geographical markets, sectors and client groups
  • attend and participate in new business meetings
  • represent the practice at industry forums and events
  • help manage the junior personnel within the new business team
  • develop business development expertise within the RSHP architectural team

Skills and qualities:

  • minimum of five plus years’ of business development experience writing bids and proposals for a leading architecture practice
  • a confident, calm, professional manner; creative, reliable, and self-motivated
  • highly organised project manager, with an ability to effectively prioritise the key activities and deadlines of the team
  • confidence to liaise with senior managers and external clients
  • meticulous attention to detail and an ability to work well under pressure
  • fluent in spoken and written English, with good communication and interpersonal skills
  • excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills
  • ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
  • proficient using a range of software, including Adobe InDesign and Microsoft Office
  • skilled in designing and preparing graphic layouts
  • experience using CRM and digital asset management software
  • a keen interest in architecture and design, extensive knowledge of the construction industry
