Junior interior designer
at Brace Studio
Brace Studio is seeking to recruit a junior interior designer to join its team in London.
We are an award-winning design studio, specialising in the retail design sector. Predominantly our work is with an international supermarket brand, designing a wide variety of formats from convenience retail to hypermarket design, all over the world.
This is an ideal role for an interior design graduate/junior with one year experience.
The perfect candidate will be Vectorworks proficient and have a passion for retail design. They will also be hands on and able to help with basic odd jobs such as decoration and furniture construction for the rearrangement of the studio and other general trade tasks when required. They should be efficient, adaptable, full of ideas, willing to do repetitive drawing preparation, and show initiative when required.
Candidate requirements:
- a graduate with a degree in interior design or interior architecture
- proficiency in Vectorworks and Photoshop is a necessity
- ability to communicate ideas through visualisation. Note: We use Vectorworks for 3D modelling
- excellent conceptual thinking
- enthusiasm for retail design and trends
- fluency in English
- excellent written and verbal communication skills
- excellent organisational skills for administration
- currently living in the UK and permitted to work here
- willing to help with decoration and basic construction tasks
Junior designer responsibilities
Working under the guidance of our senior staff you will be required to:
- prepare drawings in Vectorworks, ready for our design team to work on. This will involve importing dwg files, tidying up layers and classes and translating the notation using Google Translate
- source imagery for mood boards
- put together visual presentations in PowerPoint
- online research
- administration
- electronic filing
- run errands
- ability to help with decoration and basic construction tasks
- create interior and exterior conceptual visuals, depending on design skills
Availability:
- ASAP start
- Monday to Friday 9am – 5.30pm
Salary:
- this will be related to experience and suitability
