Studio/FF&E manager

Claudia Dorsch Interior Design is seeking a studio and FF&E manager to join its team in London.

This is an exciting role for an entrepreneurial professional who wants to help us grow our design business to a new level. You are working as part of a small dynamic team directly for the creative business director.

Minimum three days week required but can be full time. Must be working in the studio.

The role requires a range of skills to cover this scope of responsibilities:

  • office and operations management and project administration
  • business growth strategies and marketing (inc social media)
  • FFE sourcing,  procurement and logistics
  • book keeping and project finances

You will take over these tasks from the director who (can explain and teach) and now needs to focus her energy on multiple projects and clients and is looking for a committed and dependable growth mindset manager to support the company. This is a long term role with great job security.

The successful candidate must:

  • love organisation to keep projects on track (filing, sorting, scheduling)
  • keep the office and library beaming with up to date resources by identifying and contacting suppliers
  • create and improve new processes and structures for improving our business operations
  • have a keen interest for interior design FFE materials and love researching
  • have a flair for marketing and social media, pitching for new business, and ability to speak to new clients
  • ideally experience with running an office
  • be a person with great attention to detail, solid financial numeric abilities, and generally a super positive and happy ‘CANDO’ problem solving attitude, with ability to work effectively with designers, clients, suppliers and to work under time pressure

Key requirements:

  • BA or MA degree with transferable skills and a passion for design
  • eloquent English speaker with excellent communication and writing skills. You will be expected to write minutes, perhaps blogs and other communications
  • excellent knowledge of Microsoft programs especially Excel, further benefit if candidates can use
  • Photoshop , InDesign and Adobe suite to produce presentations, videos etc
  • you will need to learn XERO for accounting
  • you will need to learn ESTIPC for budgeting and project sourcing
  • we use Basecamp for project management

Your detailed responsibilities will include but may not be limited to:

  • office and operations management and project administration:
    • managing our database of suppliers and contacts, growing expanding and improving this
    • managing the digital and physical library of resources and improving its organisation
    • booking supplier meetings and CPD sessions for the team
    • requesting samples, sorting, filing and pricing up samples
    • keeping organised digital and printed project folders and all documentations
    • any other day to day office admin and support, ordering supplies etc
  • business growth strategies and marketing (social media):
    • manage a process of standardising our pitches and producing documents
    • preparing marketing materials and presentations
    • taking initial enquiries from new clients, booking meetings
    • translating our USP into our marketing efforts and writing blogs, social media posts etc, understand our identity and strategy of design, understand the philosophy, approach and ‘BRAND’ , Create content for social media and the website , a flair for writing will be an advantage so you can help us produce blogs and articles
  • FFE sourcing, procurement and logistics:
    • assist the design team with specific research requests into design items eg furniture, lighting, tiles and other materials
    • sourcing samples
    • checking pricing and requesting quotations
    • writing purchase orders, placing orders, checking order paperwork
    • booking deliveries, produce delivery schedules and checking logistics, liaise with supply chain
    • assist with installations of projects
    • planning and styling and running potoshoots of finished projects
  • Bookkeeping and project finances:
    • using Xero to help the director and studio team to create purchase orders and reconciliations for all expenditures
    • producing time log reports used for invoicing clients
    • using ESTI PC to prepare and run client invoicing accounts which are checked by the director
    • working with the director to keep track of financial controls of the projects
