Freelance architectural/joinery technician

Own London Studio is seeking a freelance architectural or joinery technician to join its team in London.
Own London Studio has an immediate opportunity for an architectural technician, specialising in joinery to join their London-based team. This would be on a freelance basis.
The role offers a great opportunity to work closely with the design team to develop designs and lead projects working on number of exciting schemes across the prime residential and high-end commercial sectors.

Primary responsibilities:
- CAD draughting/3D design
- setting-out drawings for approval
- creating high quality 3D visuals
- liaising with the pre-construction, design and surveying departments
- liaise with production, procurement and manufacturers
- measures, mark ups and compiling project-packs
- attend sites and liaise with sub contractors, suppliers and project managers
- presentations to directors in weekly meetings
- working to strict deadlines
Requirements:
- must be from a solid joinery background
- glazing/partitioning experience is advantageous
- excellent written and verbal communications skills
- excellent time management
Responsible for production of drawing packages:
- existing and proposed plans, elevations, and sections
- demolition and new walls information
- internal elevations
- joinery design and production
- joinery drawings, to shop drawing standard
- review and amend shop drawings
- mechanical integration to interior design
- RCP and small power setting out elevations reviewed under deign aspects
- finishes (materials and details)
- general details presented in 1:1, 1:5, 1:10, 1:20 scales
- bathroom design and production is advantageous
- doors and windows design and schedules for production
The ideal candidate will possess technical competence with the ability to deliver technical and production drawings to the highest standard. The candidate will have the confidence to work autonomously, and as part of a team.
