Part-II architectural assistant/technical designer

Elicyon is recruiting a Part-II architectural assistant/technical designer to join its team in London.

Mission statement:

To work alongside a senior architect/technical designer, with a project manager overseeing to deliver complex luxury residential projects to an exemplary standard with immaculate attention to detail. Must have the capability and experience to independently deliver complete drawing packages with senior team guidance.

Key responsibilities:

– produce good quality drawing and tender packages that are accurate, reliable and well thought through
– coordinate with consultants and suppliers under the supervision of a senior as needed
– accurate site surveys and assessment of existing conditions
– awareness of health & safety/CDM regulations
– awareness of project/site progress
– understand the quality of the projects and ensure that everything from presentations to the bespoke furniture and light fittings are of exemplary standard and meet our client’s expectations
– client relationship: presentable, fluent English, confident and discrete
– proven documentation of producing excellent design presentations
– proven track record and ability in day to day tasks of a project (not a specific area of a project such as FFE only)
– strong communicator: in person, email and telephone

Role competencies:

– a minimum of three years of experience in the architecture/interior design business; relevant experience of luxury residential projects with high FF&E budgets (minimum £500,000), a minimum of 1.5 years of experience within a London team which has delivered projects in Mayfair, Knightsbridge, Belgravia and Chelsea. Proven experience in bespoke joinery and furniture design
and client liaison would be viewed favourably
– university degree in architecture or technical design
– RIBA/ARB Part-II (or equivalent) or interior architecture degree
– attention to detail and commitment to quality and innovation in design
– software proficiency: AutoCad, InDesign, Photoshop, Sketch-Up, Microsoft Office Suite
– working knowledge of all phases of design and knowledge of RIBA workstages: conceptual, detail and design development, construction documents, construction administration, site supervision
– excellent eye for materials and palettes, generally stylistically aligned with the Elicyon style
– good time management and multi-tasking skills.
– furniture, interior and spatial visualisation skills through hand drawings or renderings would be viewed favourably
– knowledge of Architectural detailing and understanding of industry drawing standards
– working knowledge of UK Building Regulations and planning process
