A project manager at UAP is responsible for ensuring the projects meet quality and performance objectives, are delivered on time and within budget.
Qualifications:
- tertiary qualification or extensive equivalent experience in a relevant field
- demonstrated project management skills as related to the design, fabrication, and/or construction of projects including planning and scheduling
- ability to interpret contract clauses, standards, technical guides and related documentation, drawings, specifications, and contract documentation
- high-level problem-solving skills and a demonstrated ability to multitask through multiple projects
- strong understanding of, or ability to gain an understanding of, the creative, construction, or manufacturing industries
- high-level ability to communicate effectively and build relationships with key stakeholders at all levels
- strong attention to detail with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- intermediate to advanced level of the Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Project applications
- willingness to work as part of a highly motivated team through collaboration and communication
- excellent time management skills to meet deadlines and stay focused under pressure
- ability to prioritize and adapt to changing situations and timeframes
Key responsibilities
Design, fabrication and installation:
- ensure that all the activities associated with the construction of a project are met through installation
- coordinate design activities with UAP’s design team, UAP’s fabrication departments, external consultants, and the client team
- interface with necessary departments and subcontractors to determine the schedule of work and materials
- liaising with UAP’s fabrication departments to ensure fabrication specifications are achieved
- overseeing the fabrication process to ensure the finished product meets UAP’s quality standards
- meeting with clients and vendors to identify potential barriers providing resolutions that maximize production and minimize costs for UAP
- coordinating the installation of the finished product, visiting the job site as needed and required
- understand and execute the project in terms of the contract agreement escalating concerns in a timely manner
Scheduling:
- create a detailed work plan that identifies a sequence of activities to be completed
- reviews plan scope and proposals and determine proper procedures to deliver the project
- developing an accurate and efficient program for each project assigned to ensure that the schedule of works runs on time and on budget
- develop, document, and communicate the work plan and any changes made during the projects
- ensuring the program milestones are clearly communicated with relevant stakeholders
Budget management:
- ensure that the project runs to the contractually agreed budget
- ensure that all contractual terms and obligations of projects are maintained and that the projects meet cost requirements
- developing and maintaining accurate and efficient project budgets and ensure budget requirements are clearly communicated with relevant stakeholders
- reporting on budget status as required to all stakeholders in the project
- managing all project contract variations and EOT claims with the client
- reviewing and administering all subcontract quotes and manage all subcontractor contract variations and EOT claims
- escalating barriers to achieving budget and project outcomes in a timely manner
Client management:
- ensure that the client and business expectations in terms of budget, time, and creative vision are met
- understanding client expectations (budget, time, quality and vision)
- ensuring the scope, budget, and program for the project are maintained with accurate and current information while managing the client’s expectations regarding these outcomes
- maintaining communication with clients for the duration of the project while providing regular project status reports to the client and UAP
- consulting with clients when changes occur in scope, budget, time or expected outcome
- escalating barriers to achieving client outcomes in a timely manner
