The job

The head of dressing and production is responsible for the buying, coordination and installation of all dressing for New Venue Openings and maintaining the existing estate. You will collaborate closely within your own function but also the interior design, purchasing and logistics teams.

Working within a budget, you will proactively plan and buy all dressing and production items ensuring that both UK and international partners receive the required items.  This is a hands-on role in dressing the venues ensuring that the Brand is represented at the highest standards and innovates as necessary. You will coordinate a team of contractors and  demonstrate our values and behaviours at all times whilst ensuring that all deadlines are achieved.

Your key accountabilities will include:

  • working with the relevant stakeholders, project management of all deliverables ensuring the appropriate resource is in place
  • ensure we have an ongoing list of suppliers and manage the partners proactively
  • create dressing concept documents for all new openings that reflects the location, inspiration and key dressing items desired and costs to deadline
  • Manage dressing from arrival, storage to site delivery in line with site etiquette.
  • ensure that Red Engine has a large database of scenic artists who can cover of the varying skills required for both brands
  • ensure all venues have both internal and external signage. This begins with concepts and production guides and goes all the way through to production and installation
  • ensure each venue has enough planting to cover the key areas and is both budgeted for in terms of purchase, deliver and install
  • responsible for conceptualising, writing product guides and successfully producing and installing ‘key set pieces’
  • ahead of any new venue opening or project, ensure that there is both an early estimate based on size of venue and also a more calculated estimate based on the dressing schedule
  • ensure that all spend is tracked during the programme and reconciled at the end of the programme
  • working with the facilities manager and the operations managers, ensure that all open venues have a timely response to their requests for new, upgraded or replacement dressing and production items
  • ensure that all dressing and production categories and processes are recorded on Frontify for training and reference purposes

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • have five plus years’ of relevant/similar experience
  • be able to provide examples of previously dressed venues and high concept production pieces
  • be an excellent project manager, with great planning, budgeting, communication, and time management skills
  • be proficient in creative supplier management; briefing, estimating, revisions, delivery
  • have an understanding of venue dressing principles, interior design trends and techniques
  • be an experienced team manager; ability to train, develop and nurture talent
  • be an Advanced user of Adobe Creative Suite; In Design, Illustrator, Photoshop, XD
