Senior architect

VOP Group Architects is hiring a senior architect to join its team in London.
VOP Group Architects is a young RIBA Chartered practice based near London Bridge and Borough Market in southeast London.
We are looking for an architect with project experience, preferably in the residential sector. The candidate will need to be comfortable taking responsibility and working independently, managing projects and working with clients and construction teams. You will gain experience in a variety of projects at varying stages of design/construction and scales.
You will also have a key role in our office, with support from an experienced mentor and technical review process enabling you to hopefully grow your longterm career with us.
The atmosphere in our practice is friendly, and social. We enjoy collaborative, flexible working, and are presently following a blended office/home working pattern.
Role and requirements:
- strong designer
- a minimum of two years’ project running experience in the UK
- experience of multi-unit residential planning applications
- ability to produce technical drawing packages to a high level of detail and accuracy
- able to work methodically, plan ahead and maintain strong project documentation
- a good understanding of current planning guidelines and UK building regulations
- excellent communication skills in English (both written and verbal) to work with clients and chairing design team meetings
- team player attitude
- good knowledge of 2D Vectorworks CAD software
The salary will be between £35k-£40k based on the candidate’s experience.
This is a full-time position within the company, with a full-time employment contract. Shorter term contracts could be considered.
