We are seeking a dynamic and flexible individual with strong leadership skills and substantial course leadership experience to lead the professional architecture part 1 course and to be a lead tutor to one of the units in the architecture part 1 course. The post holder will be required to research as appropriate within the architecture and design cluster.
As a senior lecturer in architecture, you will be expected to provide academic leadership to the BSc architecture (ARB/RIBA Part 1) course and assist the head of department in the day-to-day operational management of the course. The post holder will help ensure that the department puts emphasis on, and actively practice our careers-led ethos and adopt an inter-disciplinary approach to educating the next generation of professional architects.
In addition to substantial leadership experience, the successful post holder will have the ability to promote innovation in sustainable design. An established track record of Architecture teaching is required and teaching experience should be related to the TEF and professional body criteria and regulatory framework. The post holder will be expected to teach across the courses in the cluster and develop any necessary supporting material. An interest in developing research, either through publications or practice-based research is highly desirable.
Strong communication skills are key to the role, alongside strong programme writing and module leading skills as they will communicate with the other unit staff and supporting studies staff and contribute to the quality systems of the university. The successful candidate will also be required to contribute to all aspects of the course through engagement with the other studio tutors and course staff.
