Rachel Usher Interior Design is seeking an interior designer to join its studio in South Yorkshire, UK.

Supporting the design director, you will manage and deliver high-end, luxury residential interior design projects for a broad range of clients. You will be required to engage directly with suppliers, clients and contractors throughout the interior design process, from initial concepts right through to our installation service. For this reason it is an essential requirement to possess high-level communication and organisational skills – extensive experience within the interiors industry, working with clients and contractors directly, is a must for this role.

It is vital that you are a strong conceptual designer who can translate and communicate ideas effectively through strong technical visuals including; hand-sketches, drawing packs, layouts, internal sections, elevations and joinery detailing. You will have an eye for colour and texture and will not be afraid to push the boundaries in luxury design with a modern and contemporary approach.

This will be a full-time permanent position, working between Monday and Friday, 9am to 5pm.

Role requirements:

  • proficient in working with Apple Mac systems
  • qualified to degree or equivalent level/experience within interior design or architecture to a 2:1 standard or above
  • highly proficient in working with AutoCad and Adobe Suites
  • proficient in producing technical drawings
  • high-level ability to communicate with both clients and contractors, in writing and verbally
  • strong industry relevant commercial awareness
  • copious industry experience specifying, purchasing and invoicing
  • proficient in working with Estimac or similar project management software
  • full UK drivers licence with access to own vehicle

It would be desirable to have at least three years’ post-qualification experience within the residential sector of interior design and architecture.
