We are looking for a design lead with ten plus years’ experience to join our studio in Copenhagen.
Schmidt Hammer Lassen Architects is growing with new Danish and international projects in the pipeline. For our office in Copenhagen we are looking for an experienced design lead, who can contribute to our concept and design process from early design phases and through the lifetime of our projects.
What we are looking for:
- you are a creative thinker with a structured, and systematic approach to the creative process
- you have excellent design- and visualisation skills
- you prioritise conceptual clarity through the lifetime of the project, and have the ability to translate the clients – and the projects values into architectural visions
- you are an active listener and have experience working with stakeholders in complex constellations
- you are passionate about implementing innovative, sustainable solutions that contribute to the overall project concept and ideas
- you thrive in an independent role, and working within a creative environment
- you value the great working relations both internally as well as externally across professional and social networks
- you have a relevant education as architect and minimum ten plus years’ project experience within architecture, with three plus years’ in a similar role, i.e. as design responsible for larger, prestigious projects
- fluent in Danish in both writing and speech is a must, including good communication skills in English
- you have depth experience with Rhino and the Adobe Creative Suite
- experience with Revit is an advantage but not a must
Role and responsibility as senior design lead:
- concept development and architectural detailing of large projects, in competitions and project delivery
- you manage and maintain the architectural and artistic intentions from concept development and throughout the project to its completion
- you guard and develop the design concept of the project and, in consultation with the responsible partner, you ensure a high degree of professionalism and architectural quality in the realisation of the project
- you lead the project team throughout the creative process in close dialogue with project manager, collaborating partners, client and other public or private stakeholders
- you prepare visually strong presentations for meetings, lectures and similar occasions
- you participate in the design lead and project manager forums and aid firm-wide knowledge sharing

Practical information
The position is offered full time, and is based at our Copenhagen office and entails some travelling activity.
