Tonkin Liu is looking for Part-I/II architectural assistants to join its London office.

Tonkin Liu is looking for talented individuals to join its growing studio. We are seeking outstanding Part-I/II candidates, preferably with experience on London projects. Candidates must have exceptional design and detailing skills, and hold the ambition to become long-term, integral members of our team.

Tonkin Liu’s projects range from the very big to the very small. We are currently delivering a grade II* multi-unit housing conversion, an artwork for a village in Derbyshire, a café and community hub for a London park, transforming a steel water tower into a home, and developing a tiny trachea support structure for medical use. We are also working on a number of residential new-builds and extensions, several large-scale public sculptures. We have recently completed two RIBA award-winning houses: Ness Point and the Sun Rain Rooms, and a super-light innovative sundial in Hull.

Tonkin Liu is a London architecture studio with a reputation for high quality and award-winning commercial and residential architecture, landmark artworks and public realm. Since 2003, the studio has won 10 RIBA Awards and nine international design competitions, and has exhibited at the Royal Academy, RIBA, the Victoria and Albert Museum, and internationally. We have recently been named as one of the nine ‘RIBA Role Model Practices.’

Required skills:

– ability to work carefully and rigorously both independently and in a small team
– exceptional design skills
– proven experience in construction detailing
– advanced 2D and 3D draughtsmanship – Vectorworks and Rhino
– experienced user of Adobe Creative Suite – Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
– high level of written and verbal English communication
– minimum one year UK experience in an architecture practice
