Senior interior designer

Katie McCrum Studio is seeking a senior interior designer to join its team in London.

We are looking for a highly creative and passionate senior designer to join our small, dedicated team.

The ideal person will have proven experience and working knowledge of luxury/high-end private residential projects with a particular focus on material and product specification. As well as an exceptional eye for detail, the designer must be proactive and have the confidence to direct all project stages and the internal and external team. This role will suit a highly talented, organised and creative individual. Applicants should have at least five years of interior design experience. Strong interpersonal skills and fluent English are a must.

Your role:

  • bringing exciting materials, ideas, products and suppliers
  • creative direction and development
  • developing the studio’s creative vision in collaboration with the creative director and team
  • producing high quality client presentations
  • designing bespoke joinery, furniture and lighting
  • project and budget planning
  • managing project deadlines and deliverables
  • guiding the client through the design process
  • coordinating FF&E within the detail design packages
  • sourcing and selecting FF&E, preparation of schedules, specifications and orders
  • project installation
  • attending and leading site meetings

Your skills:

  • a degree or diploma in interior design
  • at least five years’ post-graduate experience in luxury interiors
  • fluent in spoken and written English, excellent communication skills
  • fully proficient with AutoCAD, SketchUp, other 3D modelling software, Photoshop and Indesign software programs
  • experience using Estimac
  • excellent conceptual design skills
  • ability to interpret and deliver client brief
  • extensive residential FF&E knowledge and experience
  • ability to produce and direct bespoke joinery and detailed design packages
  • strong understanding of all aspects of the design process
  • excellent attention to detail and extensive knowledge of materials, finishes and detailing

Candidates must have proven UK experience and be able to commute to our studio in King Cross when needed. Flexible, hybrid working is an option.
