Sterling Studios is hiring a digital artist to join its team in London.

We are looking for an artist with excellent traditional drawing and painting skills to create artwork used in studio production. An ideal candidate for this role would love and appreciate classical design but would be familiar working in a variety of styles and scales.

Reporting to the directors and working closely with the projects team, you will have excellent time management and organisational skills. You will be working on a number of projects simultaneously and this work is key to the production work flow in our workshop. The ideal candidate must be enthusiastic, flexible and able to work as an individual whilst communicating well with a larger team.  Drawing will be mainly on large flat screens in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.

Roles and responsibilities to include:

• producing artwork for workshop production and job proposals
• adapting client supplied artwork for production
• creating presentations of artwork for clients
• copying hand painted artwork (from our workshop) and adapting for digital production
• accurate hand and technical drawing for production purposes, in a variety of artistic styles
• taking briefs from the sales and projects team

The successful candidate should:

• have excellent hand drawing skills
• have strong Illustrator and photoshop skills
• be able to demonstrate a variety of styles and have knowledge of classical design and art styles
• be confident using CAD
• have a good understanding of scales and measurements and must be numerate
• be able to work to a brief, solve problems creatively work in wide range of styles
• can follow existing styles closely to expand established collections
• have a strong work ethic
• have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• have great attention to detail
• proven experience of artwork creation and manipulation to a high standard
• ability to understand and execute instructions
• manage own workload and keep to deadlines
