Science Museum Group is seeking a graphic designer to join its team in remotely from the UK.

The Science Museum Group (SMG) is here to inspire futures. As the world’s leading group of science museums, we share our unparalleled collection spanning science, technology, engineering, mathematics and medicine with over five million visitors each year.

Our retail team is critical to maximising income that enable us to meet our ambitions across the group. Whilst exploring new b2b activity, retail is also working on new product development as well as implementing a wholesale strategy. The team enjoy inspiring collaborations with our colleagues and external creative designers, designing a wide range of work including products and store concepts, store wayfinding and signage, marketing campaigns, print, publications and e-commerce creative.

To support this work, we have a great opportunity for a talented, ambitious individual to take up a creative graphic design role within the busy retail team. This a fixed term contract; offering hybrid, flexible working, of 21 hours per week over a pattern that suits your lifestyle. We are also open to where you are located across the country.

You will be key to defining the creative identity of consumer products at SMG. Supporting the head of retail design and new business, you will contribute to new and unique products, store and brand developments for retail, e-commence and direct-to-retail licensing in line with our exhibitions and cultural programme across the Science Museum Group.

You will be creatively challenged to develop designs for print, presentations, style guides, product and brand developments and sales proposals. You will find new ways of interpreting our style guidelines through fresh and sophisticated, high-quality graphic design, whilst working with colleagues and external creative collaborators.

As an established graphic designer with excellent technical artworking skills, you will bring meticulous attention to detail and be print and technology savvy. We are looking for someone with creative flair, a passion for design and a keen interest in how design can be utilised to achieve commercial ambitions. You will also have excellent interpersonal skills with a flexible approach to your work, which enables you collaborate effectively with a range of stakeholders.
