We have an exciting opportunity for a design engineer with three plus years’ experience. The role is focused on the design, development and production of architectural LED lighting products.
Key responsibilities:
- work directly with the company directors to design and develop new product designs and make design modifications
- create manufacturing drawings and exploded diagrams for the production team
- manage and update product BoM’s where required
- work with the procurement team and suppliers/manufacturers on product design and tolerance issues and pricing
- CE/UL/ETL testing and approval of new product designs
- manage prototyping, product and component testing and propose design modifications where required
- ensure design documentation, product marking/labelling and technical documentation is up to date
- support the sales team to answer design related technical queries
- take ownership of queries and follow through to completion.
Skills and experience:
- 3D modelling software – SolidWorks
- product engineering/manufacturing processes/techniques
- MRP/ERP software systems and production of BOM’s
- BoM’s/design documentation
- product testing
- CE/UL/ETL Testing/BS standards
- problem-solving capabilities
- sound knowledge of LED technology & electronics
- knowledge of thermal analysis software & heat testing
