The Tulane University School of Architecture is hiring a non-tenure-track lecturer/professor of practice to join its faculty in New Orleans, USA.
Position description
The Tulane University School of Architecture is seeking one to two qualified candidates for the new Bachelor of Arts in Design Program beginning in the Fall of 2022. This position is for a full-time (non-tenure-track) lecturer or professor of practice (POP).
We are seeking faculty members with professional experience in any number of allied fields including (but not limited to) graphic design, industrial design, product design, fashion design or architecture.

The Bachelor of Arts in Design program, housed within the Tulane School of Architecture, focuses on relationships between design innovation and engagement with society, culture, and the built environment. Responsibilities
The new Lecturer/POP in Design will be responsible for teaching up to 22 credits per year at the undergraduate level. Duties include teaching in the core design studios and curriculum development and teaching of advanced studios and seminars in the candidate’s area of expertise. Other duties include student advising, program development, and service to the department and university. Lecturers/POPs within the School of Architecture serve on school committees but are not required to submit a research package for reappointment.
Qualifications
The successful candidate must have a terminal degree in their field of expertise and an active creative practice in their discipline. We are interested in candidates who will promote design excellence and contribute to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the school and university through their teaching, research, and service. Prior teaching experience is preferred but not required.
