Space and Solutions is hiring a head of design department to join its team in Hampshire, UK.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an inspirational leader who is commercially aware and of course has a proven track record as an accomplished commercial designer!
This role has three equally important elements
Leadership – do you love to help your team to thrive through mentoring, training and providing support and guidance?
Commercial awareness – do you enjoy analysing designs to ensure they meet the client’s budget and are in line with company objectives/KPIs?
Design – do you look at designs and know the technical requirements in order to make the layout work without sacrificing the creative elements?
We are looking for a candidate who represents passion and commitment. They will be a keen mentor to the design team and will actively develop the team leading by example whilst being consistent and committed.
The head of design will manage the design team ensuring that all projects are undertaken and completed to an exceptional level whilst adhering to our internal processes. They will have the responsibility of ensuring that SPACE delivers exemplary work whilst meeting the client objectives.
They will be expected to bring their own creative ideas to the table, always championing the design proposition whilst ensuring that projects are being designed to be commercially efficient. They will ensure that they and their team can successfully deliver on project design commitments.
The successful candidate will be team, client and supplier facing and will provide a key link between our design team, our clients, and our internal pre-contract and contract teams. They will be required to oversee the smooth transition throughout the client’s experience through installation and to completion.
We’re looking for people with ambition and experience in the construction/design and build industry. The successful candidate will be able to integrate into an established company team, be supportive of the company’s desire to grow and be pro-active, reliable and a determined member of the team.
The successful candidate will need to be able to initiate and undertake the following aspects for the company either individually or as part of a wider team. These responsibilities are not exhaustive, and we expect the candidate to use their initiative and bring new ideas to the table for discussion.
