Mid-weight FF&E designer

Peter Mikic Interiors is hiring a mid-weight FF&E designer to join its team in London.

Peter Mikic Interiors is looking for a talented and enthusiastic mid-weight FF&E designer to join our London studio in Shoreditch, to work on a number of exciting new projects.

Successful applicants will have the opportunity to work on high-profile projects from concept through to completion and become part of a dynamic, design-led and friendly studio.

FF&E designers are involved at all stages of the project

Role and responsibilities:

  • to work on numerous FF&E projects, working under the senior designers with the assistance of junior members of the team
  • deliver a seamless service to our clients ensuring exceptional communication throughout
  • be able to respond effectively to complex questions whilst working and switching between various projects
  • building strong relationships with clients ensuring that our values are always upheld
  • able to set and uphold deadlines
  • to report to the director and senior members of the team
  • FF&E spatial planning
  • design of bespoke furniture including case pieces, upholstery and lighting
  • preparing mood boards, fabric schemes and presentations
  • preparation for and attendance to client meetings
  • creation and management of budgets
  • sourcing furniture, lighting, antiques and art
  • develop detailed FF&E schedules
  • review shop-drawings and attend suppliers workshops
  • coordinate contractors, suppliers, and services to ensure timely delivery of projects
  • coordinate the procurement of all FF&E items
  • coordination of installation in the UK and abroad

Key skills and attributes:

  • three or more years’ qualification experience with proven previous experience of delivering high-end FF&E packages from concept through to completion
  • an exceptional eye for detail, colour, and knowledge of materials
  • ability to meet deadlines and uphold programmes
  • ability to manage established budgets
  • excellent verbal and written communications are also essential, as you will be liaising between multiple parties, including clients, sub-contractors and architects
  • proficient in AutoCAD, Adobe Suite and GSuite. Experience in Estimac or other scheduling software

As our ideal candidate, you will be able to hit the ground running and be confident working both individually and with others. You’ll be patient, friendly, and exceptionally well organised. We’re looking for someone who will, alongside the day-to-day tasks, really engage with the team and play their part in ensuring the studio environment is a great place for us all to be.

In addition to the above, this role will at times require travel nationally and abroad. Whilst we will always give our best efforts to give sufficient notice, at times this may not be possible.
