Grant Associates is hiring a 3D artistic visualiser to join its team in Bath, UK.
We require an artistic visualiser to work as an integral part of our skilled studio design teams with applicants being able to demonstrate a sophisticated level of 3D visualisation skills to help shape and inform our built environment.
This is a full-time opportunity for an imaginative, ambitious and highly skilled applicant to be part of our project design teams and contribute to the success of the office by helping to develop and sell a project idea and vision. This position is also an excellent way of working alongside some of the world’s most renowned architects, engineers and designers across a variety of projects across the world.
Software skills to include an excellent command in 3DS Max, V-Ray and Forest Pack Pro. It will be necessary a proficiency level in Photoshop as the nature of our work illustrating plants, public spaces and setting up scenes will often require additional post production work beyond V-Ray.
Our workflow will generally include importing files produced by Rhino -including models generated by grasshopper baked as mesh- and Revit, thus it is important to have the ability to solve possible problems, collaborate with the designer and find the optimum solution to achieve the visualization in question. A basic level of Rhino is preferable. Advantageous but non-essential software knowledge would include, Enscape, Lumion and Revit.
Specific skills and tasks include:
- a relevant design background e.g. landscape or architectural
- a great spatial visualisation ability to comprehend design at various scales and different levels of complexity
- a collaborative approach and engaging personality with the ability to communicate well in a team environment, sometimes under pressure and with tight deadlines
- highly imaginative, creative and resolute. Always trying to be at the forefront of the industry creating and finding cutting edge solutions with new tools and techniques
- a relevant design background e.g. landscape or architectural
- capable of producing professional high quality landscape stills
- an ability to think and work independently
- setting up views to maximise the potential of the image and sell the scheme by making recommendations to composition, image character e.g. mood, time of year/day, colour, content according to project location
- a strong eye for detail and a willingness to work in an environment with shifting priorities
- a passion for design across all disciplines
- as you will be working on complex projects as part of teams based in the UK and in Singapore, an excellent command of both written and verbal English is required
- minimum five years’ of experience in a relevant field
- candidates must submit a portfolio with their application to be considered
Your portfolio should demonstrate:
- examples of projects where landscape is the main component of the still
- high quality rendering outputs in 3DS Max that demonstrate a sophisticated understanding of activity/use, scale, proportion, composition, seasonality and light conditions
- not-essential but we would love to see free hand drawings and sketches of any subject that is of interest
The recruitment process comprises two phases:
- phase one of the selection process will consist on an interview of 60 minutes
- phase two of the selection process may include a rendering exercise consisting on a visualisation of one of the company’s projects. We will facilitate a model in Rhino and a sketchbook for this purpose
We offer a generous remuneration package to include a competitive salary, company pension scheme, discretionary annual bonus and a holiday allowance of 25 days per year, increasing one day for each year of service to a maximum of 30 days (plus bank holidays).
