Senior design manager

Morpheus & Co is currently recruiting a design manager to join its team in London.

Morpheus is an established studio with current projects broadly spread across the domestic and international markets. These include a 400 key hotel in Egypt, branded residences in the Loire valley, and a ground breaking residential development in Mayfair.

We are looking for a full-time candidate at senior level to join our internationally renowned, inspiringly creative and fast-paced team to work on architectural & interior design commissions, with the role focusing predominantly on UK projects.

Working closely within the senior design team, and supported by the design director, the design manager is responsible for the overall delivery of projects, including coordination and delivery of the full information, project resourcing and, as importantly, a proven practical approach to on-site design delivery and change management.

The successful candidate will be confident in overseeing architectural interfaces, space planning, resolving technical issues and build ability constraints, managing programme budgets, maintaining an awareness of progress on site, as well as reporting both internally and to clients, as required.

Qualifications:

  • a professional qualification in Architecture or related technical [CIAT] fields
  • ideally six years’ plus relevant experience and strong site experience and construction knowledge
  • ability to hold and lead project design team meetings
  • ability to review and produce construction level technical details
  • understanding of M&E and structural packages and associated coordination interfaces
  • understanding of planning and constructions process
  • robust skills and autonomy in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, InDesign (3DS Max preferable)
  • good working knowledge of the MS Office Suite
  • first rate communication, client-facing and team building skills
  • confidence in fitted joinery and FF&E integration
  • ability to question and interpret briefs
  • strong organisational and management skills
  • flexible, adaptable and a team player
