Hill House Interiors is hiring a mid-weight interior designer to join its team in Surrey, UK.
We are actively looking for a new mid-weight designer to join our award-winning interior design and architectural studio based in Weybridge.
Hill House Interiors’ directors, Helen and Jenny, are supported by a 25 plus strong team of passionate and dynamic designers and interior architects as well as a fun and hardworking support team. We pride ourselves on having an inclusive and positive team ethic and always celebrating each other’s achievements and successes.
Hill House’s vision and passion is to create innovative and luxurious high-end designs for the residential market, boutique hotels and the high-net-worth clientele.
As this position is studio-based, you must be able to travel to Weybridge in Surrey daily.
Job title: mid-weight interior designer
Work pattern: full time, 37.5 hours a week
Working hours: 9.00am-5.30am or 9:30am-6.00pm
- three plus years’ experience as an interior designer in the high-end luxury market, an FF&E background is a must
- strong understanding of the full design process
- degree in interior design/interior architecture is essential
- independent attitude, can hit the ground running
- experience, energy and enthusiasm in project monitoring from concept to completion
- sourcing and procurement of FF&E, dealing directly with suppliers
- high level scheme making
- a great eye for design and colour, with good 3D and spatial awareness
- strong knowledge of FF&E suppliers
- commercially minded, good problem-solving skills
- positive outlook and a great work ethic
- technical drawing skills are essential
- capable of working in a pressured environment with the ability to work to deadlines
- computer literate – proficient in Microsoft Office with a strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, specifically InDesign and Photoshop
- proficient in AutoCAD and Sketch Up with experience of EstiPC an advantage
- strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and presentable. The job will involve dealing with clients and suppliers, either on a personal basis or over the telephone. The ability to visualise concepts and communicate them to others is very important.

- a full, clean driving licence for site visits is a must

The main duties will include:
- to work as part of a team on both UK and international projects from concept through to completion
- producing accurate schedules, for curtain and furniture manufacturers for example
- sourcing and specifying products and materials whilst being mindful of a set budget
- producing comprehensive and professional looking mood boards for presentations to clients
- responsibility for multiple projects from concept development through to installation and styling
- preparing detailed and accurate drawings, designs, plans and schemes
- working in a team with other designers and architects
- keeping up to date with new developments and design trends in the design industry
- sourcing, scheduling, and specifying furniture, fittings & materials of the highest quality
- managing projects independently
- liaise with clients and manage on site installation
- liaise with suppliers and negotiate terms and costings
- taking full responsibility of all aspects of the entirety of the project
