Inigo is an estate agency that specialises in selling exceptional historic homes across the UK. We were founded by the people behind The Modern House, and aim to unlock the true value in every home we represent by telling its story, presenting magazine-quality photography, and delivering exceptional client service.
What are we looking for in an Appraisals Specialist?
Prior experience in estate agency or property is not necessary as we will provide full training over the first six months of employment, but a valid UK driving licence and willingness to undertake travel across the country is essential.
We are looking for a personable, motivated, highly-organised individual to join our growing appraisals team.
We like to hire from outside of the industry in order to build a team as eclectic as the homes we sell, so we encourage applications from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences.
We have previously hired appraisers from fields such as art, design, fashion, finance, and antiques, but we are not limited to these areas. Ultimately, the successful candidate will be able to build strong relationships, be passionate about design and architecture, adept at managing multiple projects, all with an enthusiasm to learn and grow with the demands of a fast-paced commercial business.
We work collaboratively to foster an environment that values teamwork, curiosity and support. There are currently three Inigo Appraisals Specialists on the team, with one Appraisals Manager. The team is supported with contracts, diaries and administration from the New Client Coordinator.
What does the job involve day-to-day?
Appraisals Specialists are trusted representatives of the brand who are responsible for travelling to meet potential clients at their homes, providing them with market appraisals and working with them to develop marketing strategies.
Responsibilities also include researching and writing the sales listings for our website, and working collaboratively with our Editorial, Marketing and Sales teams to ensure that homes are beautifully presented and accurately described.
We represent the sale of exceptional historic houses across the country, so the position involves a lot of travel. Success in the role will depend on being able to win new business for the company, ensuring clients feel well-informed and valued throughout the process, and building long-term relationships with architects, interior designers and historic building enthusiasts.
Responsibilities include:
- visiting homes throughout the UK
- meeting with potential clients, providing an outline of the company’s service and winning business
- researching property values
- undertaking historical and architectural research
- building a knowledge of the property market and sales process
- generating market appraisal letters
- managing leads through our industry-leading database
- commissioning photography
- researching and writing up sales particulars
- communicating honestly and efficiently with clients
