SB Architects is seeking a Part 3 architect to join its team in London.

We are establishing a London studio to grow our capabilities and reach in the EMEA region, and we are looking for candidates who have a great attitude, are ambitious, flexible, curious and highly motivated to join us in this endeavor.

What will you do?
- work independently to contribute to the full range of architectural services on small to medium projects or to oversee smaller portions of large projects as part of a design team
- develop design concepts in collaboration with other team members
- ensures projects will meet legal requirements by following building regulations, planning codes, fire regulations, and related ordinances, such as, accessible design.
- provides project reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data
- oversee design work of junior staff to ensure integration and cohesion within the design team
- provide oversight and mentorship to junior staff
- present design solutions to client representatives and/or design review committees
- manage the coordination of drawings with other design disciplines
- find technical solutions to deliver the design through documentation and detailing while preserving design intent
- prepare, develop, edit and coordinate specifications with drawings to meeting project requirements
- evaluate, select and/or approve materials and products
- demonstrate an enthusiastic commitment to the multidisciplinary project development process and team-focused environment
- collaborate with senior staff members and partners in charge based on project needs
Required skills:
- strong 3D Modeling skills (Rhino + Revit essential, Grasshopper strongly preferred)
- working knowledge of CAD/BIM documentation software (AutoCAD and Revit)
- advanced knowledge of BIM or Parametric Design is an asset (Revit, Dynamo and Grasshopper)
- proficiency in rendering software an asset (Enscape preferred)
- proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, Projects and Outlook
- proficiency in Adobe Create Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign)
- strong leadership, organisational, communication and relationship-management skills
- experience working on projects during construction, construction administration and coordination with contractors a bonus
- ability to sketch and develop design ideas graphically (Diagramming by hand or digitally)
- ability to discuss and communicate ideas with verbal and graphic clarity
- ability to lead the coordination of architectural drawings for complex projects across multiple consultant teams
- ability to resolve complex technical and design issues
- ability to effectively manage time and meet deadlines
- ability to work in a collaborative team environment
Required experience:
- a professional degree in architecture (BArch/March/PG Dip)
- five plus years of professional experience
- ARB registered
- LEED accredited professional a preferred
- previous work experience in high end residential, mixed-use and hospitality projects is preferred.
