Kingston Lafferty Design is hiring a project interior architect to join its team in Dublin, Ireland.

Founded in 2010 by award-winning Designer, Roisin Lafferty, Kingston Lafferty Design has quickly made its mark as a respected interior architecture and design agency across Ireland and the UK.

Our boutique studio now welcomes applications from high calibre senior interior designers to join our expanding studio. The successful candidate must be enthusiastic and aspire to grow in our expanding design studio. The candidate should have an excellent educational background with an undergraduate or postgraduate degree either in architecture or interior architecture with at least three years’ relevant and solid experience in the field of management and coordination of project details for design and implementation working with internal team members and external consultants with design direction lead by our Creative Director.

Requirements and responsibilities are listed below.

Requirements:

  • highly proficient in AutoCAD, Sketch Up, Photoshop and InDesign
  • knowledge of 3D modelling programs such as 3DS max, would be a plus
  • degree in interior architecture or architecture
  • minimum three years of professional experience in producing tender and construction drawing packages as well as completion of projects from start to finish
  • exceptional detailing skills
  • strong team ethic
  • strong interior architecture knowledge and appreciation for the internal structure of building
  • excellent attention to detail
  • ability to work on their own initiative, bringing ideas and solutions to the team, as well as the ability to work as a part of a team
  • fluent in spoken and written English
  • Dublin-based

Responsibilities include the following:

  • producing full tender and construction drawing packages for high-end residential and commercial projects
  • team leader in charge of overseeing timely and profitable completion of a project
  • leadership and mentorship of staff and internal project team

Ability to lead and guide the production of construction documents by:

  • coordinating with KLD team members
  • coordinating with external consultants such as architects, quantity surveyors, structural engineers, M&E consultants and other members of the extended design team
  • creatively developing ideas from initial concepts and moodboards by the design team
  • ensuring all proposals comply with the relevant building regulation
  • bringing a job from initial concept stage through to construction and final completion, on budget
  • attending site meetings, site management and overseeing design implementation on site
  • project management where required including construction supervision
  • producing 3D visuals when required or working with a 3D artist to produce them
  • producing and giving presentations through the use of Adobe software such as InDesign and Photoshop
  • ongoing client management

Essentials:

  • full drivers license with validity in Ireland
  • on-site (not remote)
