K&H Design is hiring a senior interior architect to join its team in London.

Role: senior interior architect

Focus: interior architecture tender drawing packages

Location: studio-based

Contract: full-time

Overview

Highly skilled and experienced interior architect, ready to lead projects and hold detailed drawing packages. K&H Design are seeking a detail-oriented, highly proficient Vectorworks user to prepare clear, well-coordinated interior drawing packages for tender, ranging from construction issue to bespoke FF&E. Reporting into the creative director, the role focuses on developing conceptual interior design information into accurate technical information for contractor pricing and coordination. This position suits someone with strong technical drawing skills who understands how interior design information is used on site by contractors and our highly skilled artisans and fabricators.

Key responsibilities:

• running projects, reporting in to the creative director
• producing detailed interior tender drawing packages using Vectorworks
• managing a small team
• managing project programmes
• translating interior design intent into clear, buildable information
• setting agendas and leading professional team meetings
• working closely with the interior design team to resolve technical and coordination queries
• maintaining organised drawing files and project records

Required skills and experience:

• advanced proficiency in Vectorworks (essential)
• five years’ experience in high-end UK residential design
• strong understanding of interior construction and detailing
• proven experience leading and managing teams
• proven experience producing interior tender-stage drawing packages
• ability to interpret design sketches, layouts and specifications with a clear sense of scale
• excellent attention to detail and drawing accuracy

Desirable:

• experience within an interior design or multidisciplinary studio
• strong joinery detailing skills
• experience coordinating with contractors and suppliers
• familiarity with UK fit-out standards and construction practices

• clear communicator, comfortable collaborating with designers and the professional team
• respectful of established studio drawing standards
