Role description

This is a new role which has been created to ensure that the senior interior designers have the support of someone with two plus years’ experience in managing projects, with particular skills in FF&E; organisation; and managing project financials.

Duties and responsibilities

Including but not limited to:

  • be the main point of contact within the interiors office, keeping on top of communication and ensuring a continuity of service to clients and suppliers alike. When necessary, deputise for the senior interior designer
  • create clear and beautiful sample and mood boards for presentations to communicate the Soane vision and to aid the client with decision making
  • assist the senior interior designer with printing, reading, altering and creating scaled drawings – by hand and computer
  • ceate and run schedules at the direction of the senior interior designer
  • attend site meetings, undertake surveys and oversee contractors/third party liaison as directed by senior interior designer to progress projects and ensure that Soane is represented professionally
  • keep EstiPC up to date, ensuring all costs and purchase orders are detailed and accurate
  • manage the ordering process from start to finish: from detailed purchase order through to safe delivery and installation to deliver a seamless delivery of interiors service
  • be responsible for meeting notes, internally and externally.  Keep team members updated on their action points
  • keep all physical and digital project documentation up to date to ensure that the team can work efficiently
  • maintain and update the Soane resource library and supplier and client database. Keep the office tidy so that materials can be found quickly and easily
  • research fabric, furnishing and finishes options as required and keep the team up to date with new contacts and products on the market which are appropriate for the company’s aesthetic
  • represent the interiors team internally and collaborate with other team members within the wider creative team to ensure best practice and to share skills and information

Qualifications for the position

The ideal candidate will already have:

  • design-related qualification
  • two plus years’ experience as a junior designer (portfolio of work is required for interview)
  • proven experience in project and work flow management
  • knowledge of products, antiques, suppliers, architectural styles and furniture design
  • excellent Microsoft Office suite and EstiPC skills
  • knowledge of Indesign and digital presentation platforms, AutoCAD and SketchUp
