Hugh Broughton Architects is hiring a Part 3 architect to join its team in London.
Hugh Broughton Architects is seeking an experienced Part 3 architect to join our expanding studio, taking up a permanent, dynamic role at the heart of our team – contributing to exciting projects ranging from listed buildings in the UK to research stations in Antarctica.
Hugh Broughton Architects is an award-winning architectural practice based in west London, working on a wide range of institutional, cultural and heritage projects. In parallel with this work, our studio is considered the global leader in the design of scientific research facilities in Antarctica. All our work is developed in a highly collaborative atmosphere that promotes and encourages sharing of ideas and personal professional development.
The successful candidate will take the lead in the delivery of key architectural packages on our current projects, assisting with the exploration of design ideas and the refinement of design options, in close collaboration with project directors.
Your tasks will include:
- communicating design ideas and progressing the development of architectural packages through a variety of different methods including hand sketches and 2D and 3D drawing packages (Revit)
- production of construction detail packages and specifications writing
- research into products, materials, new technologies and building references
- maintaining an awareness of design programme and planning work effectively to ensure project deadlines are met
- acting as a mentor to junior members of staff, sharing knowledge and offering support as necessary
Your experience should include:
- minimum two years’ of professional experience post RIBA Part 3 qualification
- an understanding of RIBA Work Stages and project organisation generally.
- proficiency in Revit, as well as a good knowledge of BIM workflows, standards and best practice
- familiarity with BIM360, Navisworks and Enscape would be beneficial
- demonstrable experience in the production of construction details and specifications
- an understanding of technical standards and building regulations requirements
