Acres Architects is seeking an interior designer to join its team in Nottingham, UK.
Minimum requirements for this role:
- bid or equivalent qualified interior designer (bachelors degree or higher)
- project management experience as internal interior designer team leader
- experience working with property developers, housing associations & social housing providers, local authorities in the commercial sector as well as private clients
- demonstrable experience in bespoke technical design, joinery details and Stage 4 project running duties including building regulations approval, tender support/running and sourcing specialist sub-contractors
- demonstrable experience in contract appointments, working with subcontractors and sourcing supply of both materials and furniture
Revit proficient – advanced level required – with good knowledge of BS 1192 and BIM coordination, and compliance with national standards - hand sketching ability with exceptional Photoshop editing skills
- Adobe Suite and Office 365 – advanced level
- fluent in English (written and verbal)
- full UK driving licence, and fully taxed and insured own vehicle
- UK passport or legal right to work within the UK
- ability to travel to site and client meetings.
- demonstrate recent examples of taking projects through all stages of the RIBA plan of works
- needs to be a highly motivated individual who can manage and inspire their teams to deliver exceptional results
Desirable requirements for this role:
- more than five years’ experience as lead or interior designer for commercial sector
- residential sector budget of £1 million+
- experience in formalised project BID submissions at commercial scale
- individual who regularly competes or is interested in competition entries
- unique skill, something extra and over to bring to the practice
- already living in the East Midlands area and commutable within 30 minutes of Nottingham studio
Description
An ambitious and driven interior designer who is wanting and willing to join our team and help us push forward into the commercial and residential sectors. The position is geared towards a senior interior designer who is confident in client facing scenarios.
The individual will be handling a full studio set of clients, assisting the practice owner by helping to win projects and bring them into the practice, run them profitably once secured, and continue to motivate our current team of exceptional designers to produce exceptional commercial and residential interior design. The individual must be extremely confident in client liaison and management of the wider studio production team.
The individual will know what it means to fully run projects, manage clients and keep the studio profitable. An individual who can focus accountability on easy-to-understand data driven results-based targets and fast progression within the studio is for the taking.
The project types currently available and requiring support are: build to rent schemes, PD Office to residential conversions, new build PBSA and master planning and housing developments. Whilst this role will be focused on the commercial B2B clients, there will be a need to lend expertise and ‘dip into’ some private client projects when required.

Example package
Salary: £28,000 – £35,000 pa (DOE)/bonus based on team performance
Hours: 37.5 per week/Mon-Friday 9-5:30
