Mullally Architecture and Design is hiring an experienced Part 1 or 2 architectural assistant to join its team in Broadstairs, UK.
Practice
Mullally Architecture and Design is a small RIBA chartered practice seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Part 1 or 2 architectural assistant to join its growing studio, based by the sea in Broadstairs.
This is an opportunity to help grow with and shape the future of an energetic architecture practice which is taking on exciting new projects across the country. We work predominantly in the residential sector, with a particular focus on revitalising existing infrastructure, encouraging environmental design and working with heritage buildings. Our professional excellence is a reputation we wish to build on, with ambition to explore wider sectors, larger projects and exciting competitions.
Communication is at the heart of our practice, offering reliable advice from the beginning of our professional relationships and onwards thereafter. We help in guiding our clients through the challenges inherent in any project, with a passion for intelligent design and pragmatic solutions.
Candidate
The ideal candidate will play an important role in the development of the practice, with a willingness to apply themselves to learn and offer new, fresh ideas. They should be ready to take on responsibility, learning as they work and applying themselves to the task at hand.
Experience in practice is necessary for this position.
Experience working on projects across all RIBA stages is beneficial, but not mandatory. The most important attribute for candidates is to have a keen interest in continued development, to take on responsibilities and to positively collaborate with colleagues, clients, contractors and multidisciplinary stakeholders.
They should have:
- outstanding communication, client service and brand representation
- excellent design, survey and technical drawing skills
- strong visual and graphic presentation skills
- experience in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator
- good understanding of construction details
- strong work ethic, with an eagerness to learn new skills and take initiative
- fluent spoken and written English
- must have the right to work in the UK
Favourable attributes include:
- Revit and the use of other software would be advantageous
- working knowledge of current UK planning and building regulations and CDM legislation
- driving license and access to your own car is preferable, but not mandatory
- on-site experience
Position:
- full-time, permanent
- salary upon application
- working in our office in the centre of Broadstairs, seconds from the sea
- start date beginning of August
- 30 days annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays)
