Project designer – food and beverage

Wimberly Allison Tong & Goo is seeking a project designer for food and beverage to join its team in London.
The project designer for food and beverage is responsible for developing solutions as they relate to client interior architect complexities. This role initiates and creates project designs and plans with the added responsibility for preparing presentation and design drawings. The position of project designer for food and beverage requires extensive experience in all phases of interior architectural services including substantial and varied experience in project space planning and design, specifically in the F&B environment. Substantial project management experience is required to effectively manage projects in a team environment and to coordinate a project through all phases.
This role requires substantial level of understanding of design development and all phases of the construction process, with extensive experience in providing architectural drafting coordination on all phases of a project. Experience working within a food and beverage environment is a must.
Major responsibilities
Through proper utilisation of staff, team and resources, the project designer for food and beverage position has project responsibility for the following:
- interior space planning
- imagery identification
- furnishing layouts
- freehand sketches/detailing
- furnishing, colour and material boards
- product resource and research
- rendered plans and elevations
- cost estimating
- coordinates project teamwork with staff and related consultants
- furniture, fixtures and equipment specifications
- shop drawing review
- client presentation skills
- construction administration for interior detailing
- construction administration for FF&E
- purchase order review
Job requirements:
- BA (hons) in interior design or interior architecture (or equivalent) education and eight to ten years’ related experience in designing large interior projects including urban and resort hotels is required
- extensive experience in the use of Revit, AutoCAD, Photoshop, Microsoft Word and Excel
- the ability and experience in independently designing major food and beverage areas within the hotel and or commercial interior design project arena
- must have exceptional organisational skills. and the ability to organise many projects and deliverables in a timely manner
- possess excellent people skills and be comfortable in interfacing with clients, consultants, vendors and internal staff
- the ability to coordinate, delegate, give feedback, and mentor subordinates regarding their work and professional development
- a complete understanding of material selection parameters
- the ability to understand and implement complex concepts, practices and procedures within the interior design field
International travel may be required.
