Our ideal candidate will have experience running private residential projects in the UK through stages 4-6, an excellent design portfolio, sound construction knowledge, and experience completing complex architectural projects. - fluent in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign) and a CAD drawing package and SketchUp
- fluent verbal and written communication skills in English
- knowledge of UK planning processes and building regulations for England
- liaising directly with external consultants (e.g. structural, mechanical engineers) to obtain specific technical details to coordinate and include within drawing packages
- producing creative conceptual design drawings for both pitch documents and live projects (3D, 2D and hand drawings) on several different project types
- supporting the team on three to four simultaneous high end private residential refurbishment projects
- an ability to liaise sympathetically with private clients, contractors, and other members of the office
- experience in writing schedules of work and, on occasion, running site meetings on private residential projects
- willingness to take part in the everyday tasks of running a small office, such as billing clients or getting quotes from suppliers
- the ability to progress work rapidly and to know when to ask for assistance
The position is full-time and intended to be long-term following an initial probationary period. Salary is between £27 and 32K, depending on experience.
